Rich and Helena recently travelled to the Productronica exhibition in Munich in support of a few of our clients. You can see the graphics we designed for MEK Europe below. A high profile trade show for electronics production, the show was a useful platform from which to gauge the state of play in the industry right now.
Here's what Rich thought about the show:
"The high activity level at so many stands this week at Productronica was almost enough to let you forget how extremely tenuous the growth path demonstrated by electronics this year really is. Nonetheless, it’s clear that electronics manufacturing has fared considerably better than many other business segments since 2009, and in Europe in fact it’s grown at a rate much better than the overall economy.
Make no mistake, Productronica is a regional exhibition set in a robust manufacturing region. German unemployment is touted at 7%, in stark contrast to the rest of the continent. America’s Obama would hardly need to campaign next year if he could claim such a number. Significantly fewer important buyers from outside Europe attend Productronica compared to 10 or 15 years ago, but nonetheless most exhibitors enjoyed a positive week.
Certainly all of Protean’s partners that exhibited this year were pleased with their investment, and all remain optimistic about their ability to continue to outpace their competitors in technology and innovation. Bank deleveraging, sovereign debt and future paths to export raise a different response."
